This weekend, Zadar is becoming an important place for the development of field hockey in Croatia. From 28 to 30 August, the second part of the DNCs educational program of the Croatian Hockey Federation (HHS), which is implemented in cooperation with the European Hockey Federation (EHF), is held in Višnjik. The program is led by Valentin Altenburg, world-renowned coach and Olympic medalist, and special attention will be paid to working with young players. On Saturday, 29 august, there will be talent trainings at Višnjik, attended by 35 players under the age of 14 from Zagreb clubs. The first training session starts at 10:30 am. The arrival of field hockey in Zadar is part of the wider HHS project "School of Hockey in Primary Schools", which has so far included 11 counties and 22 schools. Already this autumn, the project will start in three elementary schools in Zadar, where children will have the opportunity to practice hockey for free through an extracurricular activity, develop motor skills and team spirit The long-term goal is even more ambitious – to open a hockey club in Zadar and create conditions for the development of this sport in Dalmatia. The Saturday program at Višnjik is open to all citizens, and especially to children who want to get to know field hockey. Visitors will be able to look at young talents in action, get to know the sport more closely and even try it out for themselves. Cherry Orchard, Saturday, August 29, from 10:30 am – this is an opportunity for Zadar to get to know the sport firsthand, which could soon get its place in Zadar schools.
