Drama plus Author's project based on the memoirs of Patti Smith ANGEL'S BREAD Director: Vito Sikirić / Dramaturg: Hana Baraba / Cast: Mia Bujan and Tonka Bušić Patti Smith — legendary American singer-songwriter, poet and writer, pioneer of American punk and an artist who inextricably linked music and poetry. From the cult albums Horses, Radio Ethiopia, Easter and Wave, to the memoirs Tek djeca and M Train, to her latest memoir patti Smith has spent her entire life searching for an authentic artistic voice. In this excerpted scene reading of fragments from the Bread of Angels, we follow the artist's life from childhood and growing up in poverty, through bohemian New York, important relationships and peak careers, all the way to old age and look back at the lives she lived, the losses she suffered, the work she left behind and the world we live in today. Through intimate confessions, poetic expression, slam poetry and tributes to the famous artist, the play deals not only with the iconography and legacy of Patti Smith, but also with the universal question: what does it mean to spend a lifetime searching for and living your own artistic voice?
